Friendster
A couple of weeks ago, I was reading the brain of bill and I came across this entry on Friendster. I had never heard of the place, so I kinda skim read his entry and didn’t think about it again…
Saturday, I got an invite to join Friendster from Thom and I thought, what the hell and joined…
Within 30 minutes of joining, a Woman messaged me and invited me to a party not too far from my house. THAT COMPLETELY FREAKED ME OUT. Not because of the Woman, she seemed very nice, but all of a sudden this internet thing became entirely too real…
Later that night, Mo, Thom and I went out to this cool bar around the corner from us and I sat there having paranoid induced panic attacks until I had consumed enough beer to calm me. Suddenly EVERYONE looked familiar and I was sure that they were all on Friendster and they all knew too much about me.
We can safely say that my paranoia has been on red alert ever since…
However, having said that, I have become completely obsessed with the place. It’s really fucking cool in some ways but I can’t get over this feeling of loosing my privacy. All of a sudden, when going out of my house, which unfortunately has to happen everyday, I am convinced that people will have seen me before. That people will know that I like to read and love The Pixies and APC. I know that’s completely fucking bizarre in that I have this here place and I have an awful lot of readers and am known by entirely too many people in Philly, but I, for some unknown reason, feel like I have control of this place and my readers, but none whatsoever over Friendster…
It skeeves me out like a pervy man, but unlike pervy men, I keep going back…
In other news, did you see my pretty pet roast chicken?
New A Perfect Circle Song!
Continuing with my APC obsession, I am IN FUCKING LOVE  with the new song that can be heard at their website. MY GOD! I need to go home and be with it some more, but it’s blowing me away here at The Geegy Monsters cage for Tank…
However, I do have one bone of contention - they have clearly stolen the idea for their cover art from me.
*Ahem*
Exhibit A: My Banana Slug from my trip to Big Sur in March 2002.
Exhibit B: Their cover art from their upcoming album slated for release in September 2003.
I want to draw your strict attention to the time lines here. Tank hugs Banana Slug in March of 2002, APC release album September 2003. I was obviously 1.5 years AHEAD of them and I hope to all bloody, life giving Cunts everywhere, that I will have some kind of credit in the album for my idea and my friend Shitster the Banana Slug.
